Zepbound (tirzepatide) 10 mg is an intermediate-to-high maintenance dose given as a once-weekly subcutaneous injection for chronic weight management and obstructive sleep apnea (OSA), used alongside diet and exercise
Dosing and Progression
  • Progression: Patients typically start at 2.5 mg weekly for 4 weeks, increasing by 2.5 mg increments every 4 weeks past the initial phase. 
  • Maintenance Level: The 10 mg strength serves as an established therapeutic maintenance dose for both weight reduction and sleep apnea management.
  • Ceiling: The absolute maximum approved dosage limit is 15 mg injected once weekly. 
Administration and Safety
  • How to Use: Injected under the skin of the abdomen, thigh, or upper arm once every week, any time of day, with or without food.
  • Common Side Effects: Nausea, diarrhea, vomiting, constipation, and stomach discomfort.
  • Serious Warnings: Carried risk of thyroid tumors/cancer; do not use if there is a personal or family history of medullary thyroid carcinoma or Multiple Endocrine Neoplasia syndrome type 2
